Why do I write poetry? What's the point? [DWG: Poet, Know it, Show it, Dec. 21]

Poetic purpose


Take a little hist'ry,
use a little angst -
lean on any basis
and, maybe, make a point.

Take a little challenge,
shape a random thought,
bring a little laughter,
or maybe just a smile.

I'm not the bestest poet,
but now and then I'll try
to reach inside and show it
to those with caring eyes.
