I have never

At least not that I'll admit to

I have never
         been to London to see the Queen
         sailed with the Beatles in a Yellow Submarine
         acted with the big stars in a silver celluloid dream
         played in a bar on an old tambourine

but then...

I have never
         smoked a fat cigar with the boys in the house
         whistled a tune about a windmill and a mouse
         listened to Al Einstein as he his theory did espouse
         dined on filet mignon with Monsieur Escoffier and his spouse

and although...

I have never
         drunk a Tennessee whiskey sour with a Daniel name of Jack
         won a game of snooker where I potted the last black
         pulled a little lever to reveal a shiny plaque
         jumped from a train and chased it down the track

that's okay because...

I have never
         read aloud a limerick and tried to keep it clean
         cut myself a hazel twig and taught myself to dowse
         emptied out my suitcase and helped an elephant to pack, then
         written a self referencing poem that meets itself coming back
