Chain poem June 7th, 2021

I loved my dog.
Dog paws following for many years.
Years filled with laughter.
Laughter at her joyous antics.
Antics that only a dog can do.
Do you understand?
Understand the loss.
Loss and emptiness.
Emptiness beside me.
Me, alone without my companion.
Companion of my heart.
Heart-aching for my dog.
