The Ultimate Sacrifice: Honored Heroes

A Memorial Day poem to our fallen heroes on this prayerful day.

A service of greatness,
So highly exalted -
Troops prepared
To excel in tremendously
Hostile moments;
A power of force
Fueled by endless vigor
And hearty invitations. 

Abysmal events witness tragedy
And emit a stymied close;
Lives are now forever cherished
For their selfless acts
Of courage abroad -

As proud service men and women,
Encouraged to escalate
In the gravest of realms,
Are now forever cared for
Or humbly lost.

We raise our hands
In opportunistic prayer
For these true and determined warriors,
For their heightened valor
And exquisite bravery...

And our nation mourns
A merciless transition
To storybook passions;
Opportunities and ideology
Crafted by academia and youth,
In the societal and social verve.
