Mother’s Day sonnet

Coming out of isolation from Covid & Mother’s Day is near. I wrote a tribute to my wife.

Your love, it soothes, and calms my weary heart
My isolation desolate no feign
I long to hold, embrace you and restart
Our closeness, intimacy to sustain
Love so apparent, selfless, and devout
A powerful example so concrete
Tending to others needs without a doubt
Serving, caring, providing hand to feet
Your motherly instincts impress each day
How blessed we are to have you in our lives
A miracle in flesh for which I pray
The best dream come true on which my heart thrives
True love witnessed not in my life before
My dear sweet wife Amy whom I adore
