Whispers unheard speak louder than words

Things said to others can comfort or hurt
People are praised, or they're dragged through the dirt
Honest is usually best, though you might
consider one's feelings if you don't want a fight.

And if, when you're speaking, you know it's not kind,
shut up! There are times when you don't speak your mind.
You ought to have learned this - at home and in school
It's best to adhere to the old golden rule!

Words, just like arrows, cannot be un-done
And secret talk isn't a way to have fun.
