Popping in and out of decadence - a just cause for sure - a free verse poem. |
| A pleasure so juicy With a mostly saintly jewel; A caramel wrapped In decadent candied chocolate Smothered In sinful pride; Less the smudgy wrapper, A treat dissolves With each mesmerizing chew - The lovely jaws pushing through The cream-filled succulence So rare... Principles describe the caloric abuse Of this gifted intake, A talented ecstasy taking hold - The tail driving the revving flight Toward portliness. An obscure diaphragm Now portrays exercise As a glowing benefit To both the waistline And health in a requisite, Patterned, reliable shift. Lovely twists and turns Now relate to imperfect ovals - As roundness flirts With the structured flaunting Of dubious peril. The vultures continue To nip at the bodies Of pompous demons Who reject the code Of spectral cognizance; Too appropriately shy In scathing demeanor - Whose ethical lives End freakishly And way too early... |
