One of my temp stops between the military and today

New Hampshire

“Live Free Or Die;”
My first post-military home
Was in a room
Of my elder sister’s house,
Which I used and abused,
In a new attempt
To live free or die.
New rules
I refused to acknowledge.
I was 38
And didn’t know
The value of giving
Back the love she deserved.
As I learned to
Live Free and die.
