Lost Trust

The trust that fades but never leaves like it should

when you feel them pull away
the loss, the empty
a hole begins to grow bigger
the lost enthusiasm
for keeping you together
why can't they give as much
as you give all the time
you give until there is nothing left
but you keep doing it
keep trusting when you know
they always end up taking everything
and leaving you an empty shell
still willing to give away
everything you have already lost
