A St. Valentine's Day poem |
| I trusted that sorry danged old Cupid So here I sit feeling stupid. I went to court sweet Evelong With song and roses with stems so long. When I dumbly began to sing With derisive laughter she me did sting She slung the thorned plants at me And kicked me sharply in the knee. So here I sit feeling stupid For trusting that sorry danged old Cupid |
