No Fealty: A Devil’s Craft

Arriving at a conclusion - a sports victory is the proof - a poem.

A maddening corruption -
The corralling so in complete denial.
The unimaginable devil’s
Street-like web
Forever laying in dubious closure. 
Unmasked and disheartening -
An intrepid and forthright matter
Of basic cheating
Displaying an abysmal, egregious,
And deviant code of ethics
And a shadowy belief. 

A filthy notion known to the theatre;
And a usurping of glorious precedent.

A vision of surreal contentment. 
The nearness to nuisance -
These visible, satanic claims. 

A banjo society
Constricted by the totality
Of these crafty efforts;
Soiled in the depths
Of this comical design,
The fingerless ethos
Of tangled serenity
Assuaging those shameful proclivities.
