A poem about becoming strong and taking “no more”. |
| “I am a strong woman” Is what I’ve always dreamed of believing, But the reflection looking back at me Isn’t the truth. So deceiving. All I see is a tear stained face. Trying to make you love me, But I fall so far from grace, You glaring above me. Hateful words burying me. Smothering me. Keeping me rooted In this false image of myself. You’re supposed to love me to life, But you’re loving me to death. Or is it love. That’s the shameful reality. A prisoner of my mind. Bound by my insecurities. Yearning for freedom, But you’ve locked me up And thrown away the key. Because you fear the empowering Force I’d be. It’s time to stand up. Put on my holy armor And face the giant. No more fear of repercussions. No more being quiet. No more. |
