Japanese Cherry Blossoms carry many meanings.

Cherry Blossoms

known as Sakura Trees.

Come Spring

blooms bring bountiful pink petals.

Their presence tragically short

lasting only around two weeks

before falling

at five centimeters per second.

Petals litter the ground

leaving a tragic beauty.

Cherry Blossoms

carry many meanings:

new beginning of spring

renewal

love

beautiful and luminous yet ephemeral and fleeting state of life itself

vulnerability

transiency of passing from one stage of life to another.

And another important meaning much needed

Hope.

Hope is much needed

in these dark horrifying times

when monsters seek to destroy everything

we hold dear

and leave nothing but dust, ashes, and ruin.

I know Cherry Blossoms come in more colors other than pink, though pink is my favorite color for the blossoms and pink also fits a character I like from Naruto- Sakura Haruno. And I have a character in Mass Effect Andromeda and my fanfics where pink petals would fit into the theme- Sakura Ryder.
