Autumn Wonders By Lisa Noe Colorful and crisp, red, orange and rust Smokey smells and a thick breezy dust Autumn leaves fall from a darkened sky Leaves falling like rain on mountains high Pumpkins, fadershalks, and bails of hay Decorate houses through Halloween day When the night falls a howl is heard Those not scared are absurd Kiddies running to and fro All the neighbors on the go Witches, Goblins, and the ole black cat Makes me cringe right where I’m at Old Hallows Eve is a night of fright If you’re not careful it will take your sight burning embers in the woods and hills Where so many maniacs hide and jump out to kill The Autumn colors start it all Signaling the start to fall Beauty fills this world all around And I love the leave’s crackling sound. 140 : Word Count 20 : line count |
