People aren’t always what they seem, you can’t keep me down.

I thought I was important,
that I mattered,
But when I turned back,
All those thoughts shattered.

I thought that you liked me,
That you cared,
I genuinely thought,
There was something we shared.

Was anything real,
Or was it just a ruse,
