Christmas in July Contest

The Scent of Christmas

Morning dawns on Christmas day,
It’s time for me to get on my way.
Bake a large turkey and make it brown,
While being quiet, not making a sound.

Mix the stuffing, oh what smells,
Quickly moving never dwells.
Sweet potatoes mashed, marshmallows on top,
Cinnamon and sugar smell like a bakeshop.

Pies, cakes and cookies, what a treat,
Fix the vegetables then we’ll eat.
Family visits, gifts under the tree,
The smells of Christmas are so lovely.
