The beauty of spring in 2020 expressed in the form of a Petrarchan sonnet |
| This Spring The last surviving winter snow high on the hills is slow to thaw. The squirrels leave their dreys and gnaw on tasty shoots that thrive below. The daffodils emerge to show their yellow blooms, inspiring awe. While in the branches jackdaws caw the farmers sow seeds row by row. The skies no longer look so bleak and lambs are born in meadows green. The days grow longer week by week and brighten up this country scene. Now Mother Nature's at her peak, we'll miss it all in quarantine!
