| Comic’s Lament Quixote tilted at windmills, I tried to better Shakespeare. But I had to give best to old Bill, it seems I’ll write dogg’rel from here I said to myself I need windmills of much smaller size I fear; I’ll start with someone unskill’d and end up with Edward Lear. I’ve tried and tried to be funny, read all the books on the shelf. I’ve even become quite punny, but naught works like mocking myself.
