I Got Beans

Sometimes, beans are all that you have!

This message is for my family, and there is a laugh in it somewhere. This must be song in the tune of the old Negro Spiritual "I Got Shoes!"

I got beans, you got beans, all of God's chilluns got beans
When you get hungry just put on some beans
and eat them with some rice and cornbread

If you eat those beans, you won't be hungry no more
and them beans will see you through until there is food in those stores

if you've got no beans, no cornbread or greens
and if you've been pore, then you should know about them beans
