A poem about longing for connection to love and life |

My conduit I saw you in the wilderness Your disguise revealed you In the barren waste In a land starved for water You hid in plain sight Strange yet known My soul recognized you Though you clothed yourself In primitive clothing I saw your glory Must I live out my days Waiting to see you? Waiting to hear your voice Hoping that the disguise Will fall in tatters at my feet? The sky is charged and electric clouds ferment in the heat A lightning strike waits For the moment When it will touch the earth The fury of the heavens Reaches down and surges Through my hopelessness Through my despair I look up and see your tears Hold me in your heaven Rapture me into your grief Reach down and pull me up Out of this wilderness My conduit of life |
