This is what would scare me if I was afraid of the dark

I’d jump at every noise
And flinch at every passing shadow

Nothing would look like what it is
It would all look like what it isn’t
If I was afraid of the dark

There’d be monsters around every corner
And ghosts in every closet

There’d be ghouls down every street
And footsteps would follow close behind

Every house I pass would be haunted
With something dark and sinister

My imagination would run wild
With creeps and spooks everywhere
