On Butterfly Wings

Love needs to be free

One should be free
To explore, to learn, to grow
Never bound by another
Always with freedom to go

Holding on too tightly
Will lose the one most dear
Nothing can be gained
When acting out of fear

Each must be strong
With a spirit that is true
There is no room for selfishness
Codependence will not do

When two loving hearts collide
Honoring equality in all things
With mutual respect and care
They'll soar on butterfly wings.
