Quatrains about a dragon. 1st place in Paper Doll Gang Form Poetry Contest September 2019. |
| Dragon Poem Cats, I’m told, have many names. Surely a dragon should be the same, ‘cept life is never pat like that; I have a dragon whose name is Cat. Now, if you think this cruel or strange, my dragon does not have the range to roar nor rumble nor to bellow, a mild meow his all, poor fellow. Now dragons come in colours various, some very fine, others nefarious, but Cat remains of weirdness true and veils himself in midnight blue. Pets their owners do resemble; if true, I really should dissemble. Indeed I put all pets to scorn; but my fancy’s now a unicorn. Lines: 16 Form: Quatrains Rhyming: aabb |
