A poem about love and loss |
| If I had a picture of you I’d keep it to myself Held tightly against my heart To feel closer to you Our bond would be strong Strong enough to make me feel safe If only I had a picture of you. If I had a picture of you I’d sleep with it on my pillow Hoping to bring sweet dreams Of the days we shared long ago The fun days, holidays and time spent together Feels like a lifetime ago now If only I have a picture of you. If I had a picture of you I could stare into your deep blue eyes Invoking memories of moments together Fun times we shared in the sun Loving times we shared in the cold Making sandcastles, having snowball fights If only I had a picture of you If I had a picture of you I could remember you as you were Before you were ravaged Before you were dying When we had no worries Could think of other things rather than death If only I had a picture of you. If I had a picture of you I could look at it and try to remember your voice How you used to speak to me Your laughter, Instead of your tears And your final breath If only I had a picture of you. |
