A intensely emotional short poem evoking deep feelings of nostalgia. |
| TO LIGHT THE PLACE OF DREAMS ______________________________ I believe I heard the sound of laughter over yonder beneath the pine, up on the craggy bluff that overlooks the river. Laughter- flashing through my mind, my heart, my soul, tinkling gently on the breeze, scorches me like an echo of memory. I want to fly there, be like a bird with wings to swoop and soar; and if I were a bird, I would sing my soft and lonely song, and wait in the forest until the laughter returned again, to light the place of dreams.
