The Meek Shall Not Speak

My newest piece of original writing.

Sometimes rolling the dice
Without even thinking twice
Can put an end to the strife
Causing the suffering in your life
They say talk is cheap
So when it comes time to take your leap
Make your move without needing to speak
You may land on your feet
Not having to accept defeat
All because you chose to be brave and not meek
The price could have ended up being too steep
The resulting trouble could have ended up being very deep
It may have not been a sure bet
However do not allow yourself to forget
The sole reason why you leapt
A move so bold could have left you out in the cold
Although not always doing what you are told
Becomes very necessary in order to break the mold
This could have been a story about taking an easier road
All due to buckling under such a heavy load
A seed could have been sewn
All leading to a life that is no longer your own
Ending with the result of never being able to break out of your prison cell
Only to continue residing in your own private hell
The choice to stick to your guns
Rather than just turn and run
It ended up being the right one...
