I Love You Lord

This poem is about all that God has brought me through...He is too good 💜

I love you Lord
Not just because you first loved me
But because you’ve rescued me
So many times.

Because you’ve made a way out of no way
And even when I fix my lips to say
“I don’t trust you”
You love me more.

Because you brought me back into the light
When I had lost my will to fight
Didn’t want to be here
You said “have no fear
I still love you”.

Because even when I was living in sin
Didn’t know I was dying within
You breathed breath back into me
Without You
Who knows where I’d be.

I was struggling.
Struggling with myself.
Didn’t know how to forgive
Didn’t know how to live
Didn’t know how to raise my hands
Shackles weighing me down
Keeping me bound.
Even when I thought you weren’t there
You were always around.
You love me.

Even through all my mess
You never fail to show me I’m blessed.
You continue to keep me
Through it all.
