Who were you raised to be? Who do you want to be? Who are you now?

I was raised to be cynical,
Quiet, unseen, unheard,
Intelligent, negligent,
And strong
But not overpowering


I want to be hopeful,
Expressive, noticed, understood
Perceptive, receptive,
Strong
And empowering


I am cold-hearted,
Unimaginative, present, overlooked
Educated, unacquainted,
And strong
But not overpowering
