Turning Out for the Best

Originally posted to WDC in 2005 or 2006, I took it down for some reason along the way.

I thought my life was over
but surprisingly, it went on.
There was another tomorrow,
I awoke to a new dawn.
I hope I don’t mess this one up.
I am trying my hardest to change.
Trying to break old habits,
praying it won’t turn out the same.
I guess this is the last chance
I get to make my life worthwhile.
I’ll do my best to make it work,
service with a smile.
Now, it does not feel
as if my back is against the wall.
Finally decided to be myself,
it’s not so bad after all.
