An extract of the author's outline to reveal his approach to writing. |
| [Introduction]
The opening paragraph to an outline written in 1993 by the now famous author George R. Martin for his novel A Song of Fire and Ice. "As you know, I don't outline my novels. I find that if I know where a book is going, I lose all interest in writing it. I do however have some strong notions as to the overall structure and fate of the principle [sic] characters in the drama." It sheds some light to the often discussed approach between pantser and plottter and the techniques used. |
