A Writer's Cramp Entry for 11/29/18 |
| This is an entry for "The Writer's Cramp" . This is the prompt: Write a story 1000 words or less or a poem 40 lines or less about a character who is having difficulty communicating with family and friends. Holding on to what is real is hard to comprehend sometimes I see my mother's face as she was near the end Reassuring are their words that don't quite fit this stance There's music that they just can't hear As I alone must dance Feeling lost among the brilliant clouds I grasp for handle bars My friends and family carry on I'll graze among the stars They'll tell themselves it's for the best, they tried their best to listen My hide is moist with sudden fear I want heaven to shine and glisten And so, I say a fond farewell To those that I have loved I'll find a way to send a missive as I soar with the mourning doves 20 Lines |
