A Witness to the Beauty of the Horizon

I went and saw a wonderful sunset at the beach with a great friend. Here are my thoughts.

With the wind beneath my feet, I know that I am free
in this moment
pink in the sky, the Sun speaks its final goodbyes
this is worth it all

There is water beneath my feet
and I am almost certain that this place is meant for me
orange ripples smile to me from the liberating waves
even for an instant, I know what it feels like to be

From the perch, my legs swing
although I am slightly afraid that I may fall
I learned to appreciate the beauty in the simple aspects of life
this view taught me that

Vividly I can remember every detail of today
the warm and inviting breeze that brought me here
from the seemingly endless waters
to the captivating wonders that tell stories of their livelihood

I haven’t smiled this long in a while
I want to thank the horizon for that
you helped me find my motivation again
being with me everywhere I go
and always speaking of your favorite sights
I am grateful
