A Lento consists of two quatrains with a fixed rhyme scheme of abcb, defe as the second and forth lines of each stanza must rhyme.

Doe a Deer

Buck, doe, a little fawn, they sleep far from the bonfire we made.
Man is always on the hunt, tracking a living deer.
He cares not if the sun shines or if pine cones fall in the shade.
Man's a sneaking creature as he brings a gun from the rear.

Don’t kill those peaceful, beautiful creatures
God created them to coexist with us.
The rain will fall in the woods, as they take sup and spy.
The buck, the doe, and the little fawn will never make a fuss.
