The untold story of a survivor |
| The Lone Survivor of Jericho Like the thunder of rushing horses Came seven hundred voices in chorus. Resounding praise and clapping of hand A tribe of vultures circling the land Seven days I heard them exclaim Victory, victory, in God's mighty name Stones began to tremble and shake I cried out for death, my soul to take. Crumbling, falling, the walls could not endure The faith of the tribes marching to God's promise, sure. I cried out to their God, "Please, can you spare?" I heard no answer, and expected none there. Death visited right, and left, closing in -- I was terrified I waited for my turn, but when the walls fell, I survived. And when the dust settled, of course, I was found. I was expecting the worst, yet saw joy all around. Through the thunder of rushing horses A small voice was joined in chorus By angels who carried the word My prayer on high was heard --K.Ray |
