A 'Choice'

it is hard to stay positive when everything you get excited is criticized by friends/fam

A 'Choice'
Oh, to choose happiness
to see the grey word bright anew
volatile thoughts quieted and calmed
Churning stomach still and unbothered

"find the positive"
loved ones implore and preach
they do not see the shadows hunch
hanging over me and blocking out the light
They speak without their veins corroded with self-hate

Want to find light
is different from discovery
every day is a fight to over come
the words that bear down and criticize
the few and simple things I want to love in life
