A poem written during a VA poetry class and entered into the VA's Creative Arts Contest. |
| The raindrop slides off the pointed leaf but the heron doesn't care. The trace of sand washes away but the starfish doesn't care. The pebble tumbles over the ledge but the squirrel doesn't care. The ember escapes the leaping flame but the firefly doesn't care. We are losing time, the breeze is dying, the web, broken-- does anyone care? This was originally written 28 NOV 2017 in a Veteran's Administration sponsored poetry class. While many VAs still leave a lot to be desired, the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC, is actually a pretty good one. |
