Shalom

A poem on the concept of shalom, inspired by a message I heard at church.

Peace and Harmony,
Wholeness and Completeness,
Prosperity, Welfare, and Tranquility.

More than just passive avoidance
Of antagonism,
It’s a positive investment
In fixing the broken
And making it whole again.

The world has been fractured
Divided against itself
In so many ways
We need a return to shalom
And the peacemakers
Who will make it whole again.
