A didactic sonnet, another oxymoron.

Sapphic Ode Sonnet, an Oxymoron

An ode, a tome of lofty praise,
a sonnet, thoughts in little song
and Sapphic lines have dactyl maze,
verse form named wrong.

Oh how I strain to clarify
the technicalities of verse
with small success, but still, I try.
It could be worse.

Iambic beat in fourteen lines
with rhyme, we sing this sonnet form.
No ode or Sapphic tones define
this name, my scorn.

Still crafted writing is the final goal,
the name, a minor rantipole.
