A poem about anxiety |
| Driving alone into the darkness. Behind lay torturous memories, ahead the fearful unknown. Head lights, broken. The moon, my only beacon, blinking on and off. Twisting, winding roads, a slippery steering wheel. My rear-view mirror, larger than life, reflecting my blinding tail lights. Shadows, ghosts, demons, chasing, clawing, scratching at my windows, my tires, banging and shattering glass. Clawing at me, breaking down my barriers. Until the moon blinks into existence, they disappear for a moment. New windows roll into place, my spine straightens, my tires align, and I continue down the winding road to uncertainty. |
