mellow August day
A Tui throws his song
into the air,
Reminding us of our
task ahead.

The majestic Magnolia
showered shadows
Daffodils held heads up
high - stoical.

Freesias dripped their
sweet scent
over the damp earth

Whispers of goodbye
Leaving the footprints
of a heavy heart
