Oct. 3 Rising action: The Quest
1. Alan is confronted with his worst nightmare, not having anyone he can turn too to help him, he must command alone and this terrifies him because of a past perceived failure.
2. The timing has become critical, due to conflicting factions he must rise to the occasion and take the command that is his ultimate responsibility.
3. Alan orders the un-reversible feat of beginning to colonize the planet resulting in total commitment to the mission at hand. He is filled with dread that he has begun the same failed decisions that he has made in the past, but on a grander scale.
