1. Alan Watson is a 1st officer who was assigned to the USS Precursor project after working his way back from an incident on a previous mission that resulted in many deaths and accusations that it was his fault. He is now thrust into the forefront by being one of the senior ranking crewmembers to survive the Cryofreeze disaster on the Precursor.

2. Becomes the senior surviving officer of the Precursor.
