Like a lucky rabbit's foot, It signals Autumn's natural beauty And mild climatic regimes; And waves an unfortunate farewell To the glorious, active days of summer, While launching us in every other possible direction... With Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas approaching, Our yearlong education And advancements succinctly and passionately Roll over, and on, To a new and sophisticated body Of morals, ethics, and ideology; As seen in our ever-growing plans To engage and nurture this society Of increasing scope and voraciousness. Our family and friends relive the joys And heartaches of another passage Of forever-intermingled escapes... |
