ocean thoughts

just something I thought of while I was at the beach

I walk across the warm sand

And try to stop my mind from drifiting to you but I cant

Its been awhile since ive thought of you

But this place reminds me so much of us

So there is nothing I can do

Closing my eyes and listening to the waves crashing makes me want to hear your voice in my ear just one more time than watching

them brings back the ups and downs of us, we came back for more until we got swept up in the current and never resurfaced

The sun shining so bright makes me think of that smile that you only had for me

The wind warming up and taking my hair with it reminds me of how easily you loved me . I whisper your name into each gust hoping

that somehow, somewhere you were listening

The sand between my toes and through my fingers reminds me of your touch. Your rough hands but gentle touch always making me

feel safe, praying you would never let me go.

And finally the birds. They remind me of freedom. Yours. Mines. Ours.
