The Monster

A poem about a child dealing with abuse.

The monster

A young girl with a mother who is always in bed

Believing that no one cares

Controlling mother that isn't afraid of using her hands

Deep feelings of fear in the girl's mind that are keeping her hostage

Every time the mother comes near, the girl is terrified of being dead

Fearing the monster that plays her head

Giving her mother no chance that could ruin her

Holding herself tight in her room

Imagine this girl, only eleven.
