Benjamin Franklin used a Leyden jar to capture lightning in a bottle. |
| Leyden Jar I want to touch her. This soft, gentle soul of a woman; A lightning bolt of a mind Captured in a Leyden jar Wrapped in flesh. Soft outside; Full of fire within. I want to put my finger to the place Where the spark jumps from inside; Feel the jolt all the way through my nervous system; Be electrified By her spark. I want to touch her. A Leyden jar is a glass jar covered with conducting material inside and out. It will hold an electrical charge until the conductor on the top of the jar is touched, then it will release it in a sudden discharge. Benjamin Franklin used a Leyden jar to capture lightning in a bottle in his famous kite experiment. |
