Politics is just a game
Of jokers and of clowns
Each one to make themselves look good
Will put the others down

Their truth is never absolute
But just a point of view
They tell you what you want to hear
That doesn't mean it's true

So having ticked the box
We realise but only when
The deal is signed and sealed
We fell for it again

Is this the least worst option?
Can there be a better way
Than power-hungry politicians
Lying for their pay?

Where are our trusted servants?
Should we have to tolerate
Leaders with no moral compass
Must that be our fate?

A t what point do we realise
It's time for something new
Wise leaders with integrity
Confirmed by what they do

And if that cannot be achieved
It may be time to say
Last one out switch off the lights
This system's had it's day
