My monster lies within.

Monster


It moves in shadows yet hides in view
A malign presence, vicious and cruel
Objectionable morals it takes from the night
Maddening illusions of menacing fright

Under my covers I frantically hide
With nowhere to run from the demon inside
Frenzied confusion, deliriously thin
I fear my monster lies within
