Readers Remorse

So many books...so little time!

I've been a hero, and I've been a thief,
rescued damsels in distress,
surmounted odds beyond belief,
I've lived a thousand lives...
and I'm so far from done!

I've left footprints on Mars,
and crossed seven seas,
detected, defected, deployed and denounced,
fallen in and out of love,
more times than I can count...
and I'm so far from done!

I've feasted in high courts, and back alley slums,
dined with captains, emperors, murderers and chums,
explored with amateurs, and the knowledgeable sage,
solved crimes, conundrums and riddles
with the flip of a page...
and I'm so far from done!

I've walked with poets, prophets, and scribes,
their prose bringing my imagination to life,
all the worlds I could ever want, exist in a way,
between a book's two covers,
I can be anything or anyone, go anywhere,
any day...
and I'm so far from done!
