I Am

Just a little something I wrote

I am like the ocean
Emotions up and down
Sometimes the waves bring treasures
Sometimes only broken shells

I am like a shadow
I am always near by
You can always see me
But I am just outside your grasp

I am like a candle
My flames dancing on the wall
When I burn I bring light
But I'll always flicker out

I am like a pine tree
My needles are always green
I may shed my needles
But my branches are never bare

I am like a book
I am interesting at first
Each page is a new adventure
But I always come to an end

I am like a poem
A page filled with words
You can read me top to bottom
But you may never truly understand me.
